Pennypack on the Delaware Birdwalk

Sun Jan 12
9am11am

Please join us for a birdwalk at one of Philly's Top 3 birding locations! This trip is scheduled to coincide with low tide so we can check the gull roost on the river flats for any rarities. We can expect wintering ducks, some sparrows and if we are lucky the resident Screech Owl will pop out its head. And the local Bald Eagles should start preparing to nest again.

We will meet at the picnic pavilion. For directions you can use GPS coordinates: 40.027771, -75.012497. Or use address 7801 State Road. This will take you to an intersection with a small access road (large blue sign that says Riverview Homes). Turn onto that road and follow it until you see the pavilion (not the gazebo at the river).

This event will take place unless there is a winter storm warning and/or temperatures below 10F. If anyone is interested, we can get lunch at Sweet Lucy's Smokehouse around the corner.

You don't have a pair of binoculars? Birding backpacks (including binoculars and field guide) are available at the following libraries: Andorra, Cobbs Creek, Cecil B. Moore, Logan, Richmond, South Philly and Widener.

The event is free and open to everyone.
