Get Riding This May for National Bike Month

It’s May and that means it’s time to get riding for National Bike Month. Enjoying the benefits and excitement of cycling on trails or just around your neighborhood is easy with GoPhillyGo and our team wants to help you celebrate the joy of biking this month. Use the GoPhillyGo mobile site and Android app for easy biking, walking, and transit directions to parks, trails, and more!

Our friends at Love to Ride are celebrating Bike Month with their own month long challenge. Sign up for the Love to Ride Bike Month Challenge and log your rides for a chance to win cool prizes. In addition to the global Bike Month Challenge take part in weekly Philly specific challenges and share your biking adventures on social media with #BikeMonthPHL! This week’s challenge is to ride in one of the city's protected bike lanes. You can add the bike routes layer on GoPhillyGo to see all the bike lanes around the city and visit the Bicycle Coalition’s page to figure out which ones are protected. Don’t have a bike? Indego has 130 stations around the city, and is offering a discount monthly pass for $5. Click here to get an Indego pass.

Every time you ride, you help to reduce carbon emissions from transportation, so show your commitment to sustainability and take a ride this May. We made a list of some of our favorite places to ride, but visit GoPhillyGo to find even more exciting destinations across the region. Happy National Bike Month from GoPhillyGo.
