Volunteer at one of these AWE Centers this MLK Day

The legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King is one of helping to make the lives of others better, and MLK Day is our chance to fulfill that goal by spending time making our environment a little nicer. Your favorite summer park is likely in need of a little care this time of year. Many parks are holding MLK Day of Service events to get you in the spirit, and you don’t need a car to volunteer your time.

Download the GoPhillyGo Android App or save the mobile site to your homescreen to get multimodal directions to MLK Day of Service events and other great destinations across the region.

We encourage you to spend time outdoors as much as possible, especially on holidays like MLK Day. We made a list of some great destinations holding MLK Day events, and have listed even more on the GoPhillyGo events page. Take time to join a clean up in a park near you, or travel to another community and help make their favorite park a little nicer.

Cobbs Creek Park

Join Cobbs Creek Community Environmental Center and GoPhillyGo for a morning of painting and building picnic tables. Groups will also help with trail maintenance and trash pickup along the trails and creek.  Registration is suggested, 8am to 1pm.
