Briar Bush Nature Center has one mile of trails that wind through 12.5 acres of forest just outside of Roslyn, Pa. Visitors can pay a small fee and check out preserved and live animals including an opossum, snakes, turtles and more inside the Dede Long Museum. There’s an enclosed bird blind where you can watch passing birds from behind a large window, outdoor animal enclosures and a pond where kids can catch frogs. Briar Bush also hosts many educational programs for people of all ages. The grounds are accessible from the surrounding neighborhoods, close to SEPTA routes 22, 55, Regional Rail and perfect for a quick break from suburbia.
