Enjoy some trail time this weekend for National Trails Day

National Trails Day is this Saturday, June 4, and we want to make it easy for you to join in the celebration without the hassle of expensive gas, traffic congestion, and finding parking. GoPhillyGo is the easiest way to plan walking, biking, and transit trips to parks and trails. You can even get directions to fun events that you can use trails to get to this summer like Parks on Tap at the Fairmount Water Works.

Walking and biking has a positive effect on your overall well being, and being near trees and water is a great way to escape the summer heat. Trails are also great places for exercise, and GoPhillyGo can help you find exciting places to keep your running and biking routine interesting, like the John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge and the Tacony and Cobbs Creek Trails.

If you’re new to biking, or don’t have a bike, Philly’s bike share program, Indego, has over 140 stations, including some near parks and trails. You can customize the GoPhillyGo Explore page to find Indego stations near you, and get easy walking directions there and biking directions to the station closest to your destination. Read our blog about parks and trails with nearby Indego stations.

There are so many reasons to celebrate trails, and we hope you take time this weekend and in the future to enjoy your favorite trail or to plan a sustainable trip to a trail you haven’t visited before. Whatever you choose, GoPhillyGo can get you there. Every time you use GoPhillyGo, you reduce emissions and help improve air quality for everyone. Download the GoPhillyGo Android App or save the GoPhillyGo mobile site to your mobile device and show your love for trails and the environment by planning your next outdoor adventure with GoPhillyGo.
