Franklin Court and Museum

Franklin Court and Museum, in the heart of Old City, is where Benjamin Franklin once lived. Today the courtyard has three museums surrounding it, the Fragments of Franklin Exhibit, the Franklin Court Printing Office and the Benjamin Franklin Museum which includes five exhibits dedicated to character traits that Ben Franklin had. Visitors can explore his life through multimedia exhibits and artifacts that show the progression from printmaker to inventor to architect of the United States of America. The courtyard provides a serene getaway from busy Center City, and you can even get a glimpse of what his house looked like through “ghost” sculptures, and peer through a window to see the cornerstone of Franklin’s house still embedded below street level.
